I’m on vacation!

“Look at these assholes”

This past weekend was Amy’s last as a resident in the Sacramento area, for two years at least.  We had good intentions of going for a hike in the Capay Valley.  Then Laura went and put a nail in her foot, nixing any plans that involved walking.

So we sent the boys to my house to watch the game, picked up a few cases of Miller, a bottle of champagne and headed to Cassie’s to spend the afternoon listening to The Kinks and toasting our favorite American film maker, Wes Anderson…

….Impromptu photoshoot style!

So it was a little tricky with one unable to walk and one living out of her suitcase, but we pooled our clothes together, had a few beers, a few glasses of champagne (a few vicodins for Laura) and a great time.  Hope you enjoy!

(Oh and please forgive the lack of corduroy.  A Wes Anderson- inspired photoshoot with no corduroy?  I know.  I know!)

Whew.  That was long.  But if you’re not satisfied, and if I know you, you’re never satisfied, here’s a link to our flickr.  I’m not sure if it works, but if so, you get to see all the outtakes!  Oh fun.

Have a wonderful weekend friends!

<3 the Wes End Girls haha.

Goodnight 2009!

(I stole that title from my sister because she’s so clever)

2009 is finally and officially over. It took a lot of pepperoni pizza, hot wings, ranch dressing and cat naps yesterday for me to fully recover from all the festivities… but this morning I woke up, took a run and started packing up for 2010! In a week I will be moving to Temecula to start Nursing School and I can’t think of a better way to begin the new decade. I’m also really scared and sad to be leaving my friends and family.

Anyway…

My amazing sister hosted a new years party at her house Thursday night and although we were missing Laura and Dan, it was quite the success.

Especially if you base a successful party on how good everyone looks and if the boys wear ties. And well… ALL the boys wore ties so it was a success indeed!

In all we had some good food, A LOT of good drink, and a few really great friends! I’m glad I got to spend new year’s eve with some of my favorite people of all time. Laura, we missed you!

Oh. one more thing…

This is the 10th new year’s eve I’ve celebrated with this guy…

What a decade! (love you)

Thank you Melissa Bee for hosting an amazing party yet again!  One of my favorite anecdotes would have to be when Amy brought out the trusty ol’ spoon and pot to bang together at the stroke of midnight. Happy New Year!

Stay tuned, the inevitable list of resolutions to follow!

Holy shit - you guys looked f*cking fantastic.  I’m almost glad I wasn’t there - I would not have kept up with the glam fashion.  I just went old timey style - nothing cutting edge here!

Steam punk rules!  We had a jolly-good time at the Nautalis Ball at the Edison in downtown Los Angeles (in the old LA powerhouse that has been converted into one of the most amazing clubs I have ever seen).  Nearly the entire crowd was dressed to the nines. My inner theme-dress-party geek was freaking out.
